Week 55... Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to everyone! It's 2011! Time for us to reflect on our 2010, how it has gone. If we have completed the goals we wanted to achieve. If we have done what the Lord wants for us. If we have done better than we had in 2010 than we did in 2009 and how we can continue to improve for 2011. That's what we are supposed to do. Continue in faith until we are perfected.

As it says in Matthew 5:48 "Be ye therefore perfect even as your Father in Heaven is perfect" How on earth can we be perfect?? Some of us may say impossible. Some of us may say I can't, some of us may say no, and some of us may not even care. Whatever the case, it is a commandment to be perfect. But we all know none of us are. Would God give a commandment that is impossible to keep? Well if we read 1 Nephi 3:7 it says "I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded for I know that the Lord giveth no commandment unto the children of men save he shall prepare a way for us to accomplish the thing which he hath commanded" Which means that the Lord does and will give us a way to keep this commandment. That way is something we should think about daily that is Jesus Christ.

Christ said in John 14:6 " I am the way the truth and the light. No man cometh unto the Father but by me." Our Savior Jesus Christ is our way and we must continue in faith unto him if we desire to keep the commandment in Matthew 5. Through goals and a desire to change, to repent and be that much better we will know and feel a difference in our lives. Through steady study of the scriptures, keeping of the commandments, and constant faithful prayer we will one day obtain perfection. But it starts with faith in Christ. Second repentance, third baptism, fourth receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and last, Enduring to the End. It is in the enduring part in which perfection is obtained. I know that's true. I've seen in my life a big change over the last 2 years. And this upcoming year plan on seeing many many more! I love you all and hope we can all take another step toward perfection!!
