Week 76...Word of God.

Just this last week I sent a package home. There were several things contained but of its content the most important was the 3 sets of scriptures. One for my mom, dad and myself. These scriptures are cool because they have a cool leather casing. But even more important than the outside is the inside. The words of God. We can read the Book of Mormon in 2 Nephi 32:3. "Angels speak by the power of the Holy Ghost; wherefore, they speak the words of Christ. Wherefore, I say unto you, feast upon the words of Christ for behold; they will tell you all things what ye should do." The command is to "feast on the words of Christ" meaning to say hunger or thirst after, seek, find, partake, ultimately and simply... Study and read the words of God. Our Heavenly Father has revealed all things that are expedient unto us. Everything we need. He will reveal more unto us when we have used the resources we have and have mastered them. Until then we have all we need.

The Lord will always provide us with revelation and direction. However there are requirements. Requirements to receive revelation are simple. Faith and personal worthiness. President Spencer W. Kimball said "expertise to religion comes from personal worthiness and revelation" We don't have to have a PhD to know and understand the words of God. A 5 year old can do it. Those sacred words are for everyone. But It requires the Holy Ghost to reveal to us the secrets written. I know that when we are troubled having a hard time, discouraged, unsure of the plan to take, what the Lord would have you do, or whatever situation the scriptures were written for us in our day and are made so that we might become what the Lord expects us to be. Grace by grace, gift by gift, precept upon precept, line upon line, we will learn the principles of righteousness and will learn what the Lord would have us do. I know thats true I have felt the power in my own life and know it will help you in yours. I love you all and I hope that we can all take some time out of our day to read the words of our Father in Heaven.
